Scala introduces AI-driven restaurant automation solution

Scala recently unveiled Scala Quintet, a new AI-driven automation solution aimed at transforming the quick service restaurant QSR industry. This integrated platform seeks to improve speed, accuracy, and operational efficiency through a suite of digital tools.

Scala Quintet brings together visual display technology, AI capabilities, and user experience design. The platform gives restaurant operators and managers control over digital menu boards, allowing for easy content creation, scheduling, and real-time updates. This includes managing product information and promotions to potentially enhance the customer experience and boost sales.

The solution is built around five core components: street-facing displays, indoor and outdoor digital menu boards, self-order kiosks, kitchen displays, and customer order pick-up displays. According to Scala chairman Chris Riegel, the system aims to leverage visual displays for sales conversion and automate operations through ordering and self-service features for increased profitability.

This launch reflects a growing trend towards automation in the restaurant sector, exploring how technology can streamline workflows and potentially improve the customer journey from ordering to pick-up.
